The Port of Seville Authority began work on the 1st January, 1993. It is the public agency responsible for managing the State-owned Port of Seville and the 90 kilometre stretch of the River Guadalquivir Euroway (E-60.02) to its mouth where it flows into the Atlantic Ocean. The Port Authority is accountable to the Ministry of Infrastructure and is legally governed by Royal Decree 2/2011 (5th September, 2011). The Port of Seville is an inland sea port located on the Guadalquivir estuary. The Port of Seville’s facilities are 90 kilometres – or approximately a 5-hour sail – from where the river flows into the Atlantic Ocean in Sanlucar de Barrameda. The Port of Seville is a logistics and transportation service platform linked to a business and administration cluster specialising in international trade and distribution.
